OVERVIEW OF THE CIPA MENTORING PROGRAM

OBJECTIVE: To provide a system, with personnel and guidelines, whereby, under the auspices of CIPA’s mentoring
committee, a new or inexperienced author or publisher can benefit by direct interaction with a more experienced member.

MISSION: To provide an ongoing program to enable rapid growth in knowledge, ability, and ultimate financial success of CIPA members. To provide information about the program to the general public. To provide a list of CIPA speakers for other organizations.

VISION: All CIPA members know, accept, and benefit from sharing knowledge, contacts, and services of any other CIPA member and any recommended and/or experienced service providers.

REQUIREMENTS FOR MENTEES: Current CIPA membership, payment of mentoring fee of $100, phone, email, and FAX capability.

MENTORSHIP FEE: Mentees will pay $100 to CIPA with application for mentoring.

REQUIREMENTS FOR MENTORS: Current CIPA membership and approval of qualifications by Mentorship Committee, phone, FAX, and email capability. Mentee is entitled to one hour per quarter in a face-to-face meeting or on the phone. If mentor and mentee mutually choose to meet four times within a shorter period of time, they may.

Mentors agree to meet with mentee four hours within a 12-month period. If mentee desires additional time with mentor, the two may mutually agree and the mentee will compensate the mentor for his/her additional time at an agreed rate between the two parties.

At the end of the mentoring year, CIPA will host a celebration/graduation luncheon with all mentors and mentees.

If you would like to participate in the program, contact the Mentorship chair at mentors (at) cipabooks.com. Be sure to put CIPA in the subject line to avoid accidental deletion of mail through spam filters.
