Self-publishing rancor is out of place
By Judith Briles, December 22, 2003 Rocky Mountain News books editor Patti Thorn's Grinch column of Dec. 13, "No. 1 on editor's wish list: help!," earns coal for her stocking - lots of it. Thorn's blast on self-published books is out of place and a few years out-of-date. Granted, there are lots of books published each year - some great ones and some not so great ones from self-publishers - and from New York houses.
