I'd like to submit my book, but cannot afford to at this time, is there
another option for me?
Yes, there is indeed another option! We want all CIPA members to be
included in the CIPA Book Catalog. Therefore, ALL books submitted
will also be listed in the FREE book index in the back of the Catalog.
You may list your book in our FREE
listings by going to this form.

Who receives
the catalog once it has been published?
The
CIPA Catalog is mailed to hundreds of bookstores, book purchasers and
libraries all over the United States. It is also hand carried to a
number of trade shows including the Book Expo America and the American
Library Association and personally handed to thousands of book buyers.

By
placing my book in the catalog, will I increase my sales?
The
catalog in itself will not increase your sales, however, a consistent
presence in each CIPA catalog will guarantee that your book will be seen
by those who need to see it, and the more often they see it, the greater
the chances are of orders and repeat orders. Your listing in the
CIPA Catalog is one of many things that you should be doing on a regular
basis to increase exposure.

When you have been
picked up by a distributor, can you legally still put your book in the
catalog?
This depends on
the contract with the distributor, so the publisher needs to read her or
his contract carefully. If the distributor has an exclusive contract
with the publisher, the publisher may need to get clearance first, just
to be sure. If the contract is non-exclusive, then the publisher is free
to sell copies by any and every means available. Generally speaking,
even the exclusive distributors have no problem with publishers filling
small orders directly (because they know such orders are rare).

How many free listings can one publisher get? I've got seven titles, I
think, and hate to play favorites.
We want all of
our CIPA Author's titles listed so you don't have to play favorites.
List them all then buy a good size display AD so readers can get the
details and see what you have to offer.
