DECEMBER 2017 CIPA PRESIDENT’S LETTER
By: Alexandra O’Connell
Holiday Party, the Colorado Book Festival, and New Membership Coming Soon!
Can you believe it’s December? I’m having a tough time figuring out where the year went. Hopefully you are preparing for a joyous and relaxing time with people you love.
CIPA is hosting our annual Holiday Party this Saturday, December 16th. Come and mingle with your fellow authors and service providers in a relaxed and fun environment. We’ll be doing a White Elephant gift exchange, and new children’s books for donation to CIPA ELF are heartily accepted. We’ll also be taking names for volunteers for the 2018 CIPA EVVYs—we need more than judges! Come one, come all. RSVP here.
Your Board is pleased to announce we are introducing a new, more inclusive and more complete membership program in the Spring of 2018. We continue to work hard to bring you the best value and the most useful, actionable information so that you can produce the best books. See more about the upcoming changes in the newsletter here .
The CIPA Education and Literacy Foundation (CIPA ELF) is pleased to announce the launch of its new website here. Take a look and let us know if you know any organizations in need of books, or interested in donating.
CIPA is excited to announce we are a sponsor of the 2018 Colorado Book Festival on March 3, 2018, hosted by the Colorado Authors League and Denver Public Library. CIPA will have a table at the event, which will also feature more than 80 Colorado authors. Come by to visit us and meet your fellow authors! Event Director Rachel Kodanaz will be visiting CIPA in 2018 to talk more with our members about this exciting event.
Do you have a background and/or interest in marketing and communications? It’s with regret that CIPA bids adieu to our Marketing Chair, Gwen Clayton. If you are interested in supporting CIPA in marketing and/or membership, please contact myself or any other member of the Board.
Keep sending me your ideas and suggestions for how we can continue to grow CIPA and serve you, our authors, service providers, publishers, and friends of the independent publishing community: email@example.com. Together we can do great things. I’m looking forward to a spectacular 2018!
