Meeting Details:

Meeting attendees will learn what the panel of traditional publishers look for when deciding on which books they publish and the factors they consider. The publishers will share what they do to market and promote their books to their respective audience and how budgets play a role in a book’s marketing, design and production.

Panelists will share their opinions on if and how reviews really affect a book’s success, when offset and/or digital production should be considered for a title, how sales expectations affect marketing and sales strategies, and more!

A relatively new and successful Colorado independent publisher will help provide comparison to the traditional approach and add their perspective while sharing the strategy they chose when entering the market with their series of children’s books.

In addition, the panel of publishers will discuss some specific success stories and will suggest best practices they follow that might be incorporated in the independent publisher’s playbook.
