The last meeting before the June President’s Picnic and the summer break will take place on Saturday, May 20th. We’re back to the usual time and place, and are excited to bring in 3 experts on the production and printing process.

If you’ve looked into digital or offset printing, compared POD to print runs, or wondered if you should consider working with an overseas printer, you won’t want to miss this event! CIPA is pleased to present Meg Souza, Mike Daniels, and Tim Hewitt, representing The Publisher’s Coach, Friesens Printing, and Total Printing Systems.

Meg Souza, Marketing Manager/Account Representative at Total Printing Systems – Meg has been part of the book manufacturing industry for nearly 20 years. During that time she has worn many hats including roles in marketing/sales, production management, prepress, print production, advertising, creative direction, and book cover design.

Meg enjoys guiding authors and self publishers through the intricacies of the printing process to produce a beautifully printed finished product and promoting those books through Total Printing Systems’ social media channels.

Mike Daniels, The Publisher’s Coach, has been in the book publishing business for over two decades working with authors & publishers of all genres nationwide while representing domestic and overseas book manufacturers. He has a sharp eye for detail and brings an encyclopedic knowledge of the book publishing and production business to every project. Mike offers strategic and creative direction, connections and insight to best reach his clients’ targeted goals and is himself a published author of Living, Loving and Loathing: Modern Rhymes and Limericks for the Romantically Inclined and Humorously Correct that waspublished by his Good Knight Books imprint.Mikeis a Past President of the Colorado Independent Publishers Association and recipient of the prestigious CIPA Leadership Award and the Ric Simmons Memorial Life Vest Award for excellence in publishing, integrity in business and service to authors. He’s the current President of the 501 c 3 CIPA Education and Literacy Foundation while also serving on CIPA’s Board of Directors with over 15 years of service to the organization.

Tim Hewitt, Friesens – Tim is a graduate of the University of Salford, England (BA Graphic Design & Advertising), a print professional with more than 20 years of experience at various levels, including Graphic Designer, Prepress Artist, Retoucher, Operations Management and Sales. His print background includes Flexography, Screen-printing, Sheet Fed Offset, Web Offset, Wide Format Digital, Digital, VDP and book production.

He often hosts roundtables and gives presentations on best practice for cost effective and appropriate book production, always keeping in mind that the needs of the customer are of paramount importance.

Based in Thornton, Colorado, where he lives with his wife and five beautiful daughters. They all love to camp, hike, bike, ski and enjoy movies, music and concerts. As a native of Manchester he still holds a great love of Manchester United, though I can’t say that is shared with the rest of the family.
