How Indie Publishers and Bookstores Work Best Together

Presented by Len Vlahos, owner of the Tattered Cover Bookstores

Joining Len will be Daron Muller, Tattered Cover’s Local Author Liaison. This will be a meeting you should not miss!

Here are the top seven reasons why you should come and hear Len’s talk this Saturday:

#1: Learn what bookstores really want and care about when approached by indie publishers and authors about selling a book in their bookstore.

#2: Come to understand the process of book sales to bookstores including the logistics and how consignment sales and returns work.

#3: Appreciate how to make it worth a bookseller’s while to carry your book and how to make your book as appealing as possible.

#4: Grasp the importance of what NOT to do when designing, printing and marketing your book that would dissuade booksellers from wanting to carry your book.

#5: Realize tricks of the trade as to how to get a bookseller’s attention and get your books on their shelves as quickly as possible.

#6: Make connections and learn how to reach some of the key decision-makers at Colorado’s largest independent bookstore!

#7: Get the opportunity to ask all the questions you might have to key people who decide what books will sell in their store and if your book has a good chance.
