November 2016 CIPA President’s Letter

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. – Bill of Rights – 1st Amendment

With the Election, we have seen vast and passionate discussion on both sides – and even more. Our country is founded on this ability to express ourselves and our beliefs.

The Constitution of the United States is one of the greatest literary works in the world, written by incredible visionaries of their time. And, think about it – isn’t this just such a lustrous example of we we’re all doing here? This publication of independence is independently published!

“Of the press” – what an honor we have and what a privilege the Colorado Independent Publisher’s Association represents. Here we are, a group of people collaborating from all walks of life – writers, artists, technicians, creatives, analysts, military, romanticists, scientifics, so much more. It matters not which political faction we are, or what we want to write about. We have the power to share our knowledge and ideals in a format that touches people with global potential: books about anything.

Congratulations to each and every member and guest that takes the initiative in contributing to the making of your own book. This is the strength that our nation holds for each individual who chooses to use the literary format to express themselves. Kudos!
