October 2018 CIPA PRESIDENT’S LETTER
By: Bob Schram
What Can I Do for CIPA?
Established in 1992, we now celebrate our 26th season as the Colorado Independent Publishers Association. Twenty-six years of serving authors, self-publishers, and professional service providers through the free exchange of information, experience, and expertise. A collaborative effort contributing to successful independent publishing. As our membership continues to grow, so does our credibility and presence, and so do opportunities for your publishing success. Do it yourself without doing it alone!
Mountains & Plains Independent Booksellers Association Fall Discovery Show 2018
The MPIBA CIPA Author and Book Showcase went exceedingly well with a significant presence at the show including twelve CIPA publisher authors participating in the Author Showcase. A wonderful opportunity for many CIPA members and excellent exposure for the organization. See photos of this year’s event on the CIPA Education & Literacy Foundation Facebook page here and here. As one of our participating authors said:
“Dear Mike, Thank you for a great experience at the CIPA booth last Friday at the MPIBA show. I appreciate all you do for the organization. As a result of the show, I was able to make contact with a private school in Colorado Springs and received an invitation to speak about my book. I’m anxious to see what develops from the booksellers as well.”
This Saturday’s October 20th Meeting
Our robust program for CIPA’s October 20th meeting will be a panel discussion entitled PICTURE THIS: Using a Professional Artist to Illustrate Your Book! Please be sure to attend and find out all you ever wanted to know about working with an illustrator.
“I Could Say Things with Colors and Shapes that I Had No Words For.”
Volunteers: Stand Up and Be Counted
