Unless you are already familiar with the publishing industry inside out, how could you possibly know what you don’t know about publishing? The organizers of CIPA College 2011 have identified over 100 topics that are relevant to anyone who plans to independently publish their book. These topics are organized into the following categories: manuscript development; copyright; publishing options; literary, trademark & entertainment attorneys; independent publishing business; marketing; book interior design; book cover design; galley copies for reviews; distribution systems; book printing; and book launch.
Courses scheduled for Feb. 12 and 26 include content that is geared primarily for people who are still in manuscript development. However, if you are further along in the publishing process, you may find these topics equally valuable.
Additional courses also are offered for those who are ready to put their book into production or are in the production process. Even if you have your book printed, the content in these courses will be quite valuable as you market and promote your book.
