Catherine is a registered nurse who specialized in emergency and trauma care for twenty years in Chicago and Colorado. She broke into publishing by submitting a thoroughly researched historical short story to Gannett Healthcare Group. She was hired as an editor and writer of nursing and healthcare articles.
Catherine has published over 1000 free-lance articles in a variety of publications and online. She has covered a wide range of healthcare topics and issues, from legislation to evidence-based practice and medical research, to consumer education and patient advocacy. She is now a healthcare content consultant and editor/writer.
In 2016, Catherine founded the publishing company, Quillstone Press, and published her first novel, Feast of the Raven in 2016. Her second novel in the fantasy series, Return of the Wulfhedinn will be released this August.
Catherine also plays men’s ice hockey and was the co-founder of the first women’s hockey league in Illinois. She lives with her husband Craig in Littleton, Colorado. They enjoy prowling dark forests and shadowy historic sites, seeking inspiration for her next fantasy story.
